In this twelve week online training, you will gain the conviction and tools to take your preaching to the next level in preparation for your upcoming outings. We will dive into the tools to help you grasp the text you are looking to preach the way God intended it. We will look to grow and deepen your preaching to be faithful to the text and truly exalt Christ as you herald Him to those who desperately need Him.

One of the most critical pieces of preaching is determining what God is trying to get done in a text, preaching what God intended.


Open-air preaching demands more than boldness — it demands biblical control. This control comes out of the text, observing how it functions and operates so we can preach the intended substance and spirit of the text. When we preach what God intended, our preaching is given life by the spirit.


Our 12-week workshop is designed to help you observe, understand and reveal the function, flow and burden of a text of scripture to preach it with the demonstration of power and the Spirit.


As an open-air preacher, you will be equipped to:

  • Examine a text: Determining its primary focus and emphasis.
  • Recognize various text types: Observing how they function so you can analyze and understand the Bible as a whole.
  • Focus on the main burden of the text: Steering clear of preaching a minor point as the main point.
  • Applying what you are learning: Demonstrate the tools, principles, and strategies through interactive examples and small group sessions.
  • Stay Anchored in the Biblical Text: While delivering hard truths with authority, clarity, and precision.
  • Discipline your message: Letting the text shape the sermon — not the crowd.

Heath will personally lead you through the workshop. You will have a chance to put these principles into practice as you will prepare text(s) ahead of time for the small groups and then present your work for peer review.
