Greek Intensive


Join us in Birchwood Tennessee for an intensive course introduction to New Testament Greek. Students will come away with an awareness of the importance of the language, an understanding and ability to recite its alphabet, introduction to nouns and verbs, and a pathway to further study so that they could exegete the Scriptures from Greek. 


Schedule:


Monday

  • Greek memory verse for the Week
  • Alphabet intro & review - recitation, whiteboard writing, handwriting correction, English word associations.
  • Vowels, Diphthongs, breathing marks, accent marks, & punctuation marks.
  • First declension nouns introduction and practice.
  • Reading practice: John 3:14-21.
  • Vocabulary word practice (p.12), memory verse recitation.


Tuesday

  • Alphabet Review
  • First declension nouns review and practice
  • Fallacies discussion
  • Word studies introduction
  • Reading practice: Philippians 1:1-11 (Greek Studies for Everyone, p. 30)
  • Vocabulary word practice (p. 28), memory verse recitation.


Wednesday

  • Memory verse review
  • First declension nouns review with practice
  • Word studies and Greek lexicons
  • Theological dictionary introduction
  • Sentence parsing with first declension nouns
  • Reading: James 1:1-12
  • Vocabulary word practice (p.46-47), memory verse recitation.


Thursday

  • Memory verse recitation
  • Present indicative verbs chart and basics
  • Practice Sentence
  • First declension noun review
  • Vocabulary word practice (p.66), memory verse recitation.

Friday

  • Memory verse recitation
  • Practice session
  • Open Q&A - immediate answers or commitment to provide full responses by week's end
  • Next steps discussion with registration opportunities for fall classes

  2. Whiteboard tablet with handle and dry erase marker (available on Amazon for class interaction)
